Counselling & Therapy

My Therapy sessions start with making a trustworthy relationship with an individual in a safe and professional setting (either in person or remotely). Once the safe space is created, the journey starts in a gentle way by grounding individuals. With deep empathy and listening, the individual’s emotional struggles and issues are explored.

The purpose of each session is to work on a specific concern and explore other attached concerns to get to the core of the issue. Once the connection is made with the core, then an amazing journey of personal growth and healing really begins. The whole process may take just one session or build into a series of many sessions. Everything that happens in the session is completely confidential unless your own or another person’s safety is at risk.

Clinical Hypnotherapy

During a Hypnotherapy session, I use a gentle guided relaxation through to intense concentration in order to explore your issue/phobia more deeply. You are guided to visualise yourself in a state of peacefulness and relaxation, even when confronting the object of your fears.

During hypnotherapy, you remain in control. It is not possible for anyone to force you to do anything against your will. You will be tuned into the work at hand, and so may not pay attention to your surroundings, but you will always be in charge of your own actions, behaviours, and statements.

Hypnotherapy is not the same as being “knocked out.” You will remember the things that occur during your hypnotic state, you will not be asleep or unconscious and you are able to break the hypnotic trance at any time.

Career & Life Coaching

Taking a proactive approach towards making positive life changes is at the heart of how I like to work with people in a coaching mode.

Taking a broad perspective on life coaching which takes in health, relationships, career and self with working goals flowing out of a strong understanding of circumstances is how a coaching relationship is built. Inspiring a client to achieve their personal best across all aspects of their lives.

Emotional Freedom Technique

EFT is an energy-based form of psychotherapy designed to reduce symptoms of psychological distress by manipulating how energy flows within the body.

I use Emotional freedom technique (EFT) in my sessions, which is a remarkable therapeutic tool which has capacity to transform lives, it is a branch of energy psychology which combines Eastern energy meridian knowledge and western psychology. EFT involves focusing on an issue while tapping on specific meridian points. EFT is a simple and gentle technique and is incredibly effective.

Mindfulness & Meditation

Mindfulness is a psychosocial process of bringing a person into the present moment where an individual can experience staying in the mindfulness state and use that awareness in everyday life.

Different techniques such as breathing exercises, relaxation meditation and making connections with the self are used in the therapy session.

Clinical Supervision

I am a registered clinical supervisor with Australian Counselling Association. I follow the RISE-UP (Review, Support, Education, U self-care and Private practice business building) model of supervision and provide clinical supervision to individuals and groups. I also provide group supervision to community organisations.

Indigenous & Multicultural Services

I feel very comfortable working with all ages, different cultures, first generation migrants and the aboriginal community. I understand that people have different values, religious beliefs, culture and way of living their lives. I connect with people based on their current circumstances and approach to dealing with their health and wellbeing.

Community Services and Development

I like bringing my skills and experience into the strengthening of local communities through a variety of channels. Development also applies to businesses and organisations through projects, events and consultations.

Group Work

I am a Holyoake drum beat practitioner which is the world’s first structured learning program using music, psychology and neurobiology to reconnect with ourselves and others.

The name DRUMBEAT is an acronym for Discovering Relationships Using Music, Beliefs, Emotions, Attitudes, and Thoughts. DRUMBEAT incorporates hand drumming, behavioural therapeutic principles and cognitive and dialectical elements to achieve positive outcomes. As humans, we are social beings and by our very nature dependent upon relationships for our survival and prosperity. Relationships define identity, connect us in meaningful ways, and let us experience rich and fulfilling lives.

DRUMBEAT facilitates the social and emotional skills for healthy relationships and values. This process of re-connection with self and interconnection with others enables profound social and behavioural change.

Grief & Trauma Recovery

Individuals go through a grieving process when we experience loss, this can be intense if the value of the loss is big. Traumatic reactions can be overwhelming during this grief and if not treated on time, they may become a serious threat in the future. Loss can and feel small or really big and could be anything from the loss of a loved one, loss of job, loss of good health, end of a relationship and a loss of self.

I am passionate about working through grief and loss. I have experienced complex loss especially “loss of self” as well as having great insight on “living in the moment” when going through cancer. I have lost my dear friend to cancer and witnessed every single moment when she was fighting with the illness including her time in palliative care. This experience gave me further insights on the importance of self-healing and positive self-development.

Mental Health Issues

I have over 8 years of working experience with people living with complex mental health issues and entangled needs.

Depression and anxiety are the most common mental health problems and are often a reaction to a difficult life events such as grief and loss, relationships or work related issues.

I have experience working through people’s Panic attacks, Phobias, PTSD and more.

I use a range of therapies in helping people with all of these issues including: cognitive behaviour therapy, mindfulness, narrative therapy, EFT and meditation.
